Benton Blount
District 19

Benton Blount was elected in November 2022 as the representative of District 19, which covers several areas, including Berea, San Souci, City View, and Parker. Although Benton is a newcomer to council, he has already made significant strides in his efforts to make Greenville County a welcoming place for everyone. Benton's vision is to provide support and care for his constituents by listening, thinking, and responding to their needs.

As an active member of the Republican Party, Benton is dedicated to serving the community through his position as a councilman. He has been appointed to several committees, including the Finance Committee, Affordable Housing Committee, and the Communication Committee, where he serves as Vice-Chairman. Additionally, he is the liaison for Greenlink Transit Authority, which provides transportation services in Greenville County.

Benton earned an Associates of Arts degree and then studied Business/Marketing at Appalachian State University, before pursuing his passion for music full time. After signing a record deal, he moved to Nashville, TN, where he began touring around the country. However, in 2009, Benton felt the pull to return home to the Carolinas and moved to Greenville after meeting his wife Ashley, who is a Greenville native. Together, they have three children named Jaxon, Brooklyn, and Lincoln.

Along with his successful music career, Benton's commitment to serving his community is one of his top priorities. Benton's gift of gab and excellent communication skills, combined with his personal story and interests, allow him to connect with constituents on a deeper level. His ability to listen, think, and respond to their needs is a testament to his outstanding leadership qualities, and he truly exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated and compassionate public servant. With his dedication to consistent, honest, and transparent leadership, Benton hopes to make his vision of a welcoming Greenville County for everyone a reality.
