Legislative Delegation

The Legislative Delegation office is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of permanent documents regarding the Greenville County Legislative Delegation and the Greenville Legislative Delegation Transportation Committee (GLDTC) public meetings according to the South Carolina Code of Laws. The office composes and provides comprehensive administrative and clerical assistance to the twenty-two Legislative Delegation members and the Greenville Legislative Delegation Transportation Committee while serving as a liaison between the general public to departmental agencies and organizations. This office also processes all Notary Public applications filed by Greenville County residents. Though state-mandated, the Delegation office is county-funded.

The Greenville Legislative Delegation Transportation Committee (GLDTC), also known as the C-Fund Committee, approves funding to improve and/or resurface existing municipal, state, and county maintained roadways in Greenville County.

Notary Public Services

The following process should be followed to apply to become a notary public or to renew a notary commission. You must be a registered voter to become a notary public. If you do not know your voter registration number, call the Greenville County Voters Registration and Election Office at 864.467.7250 or visit www.scvotes.org for this information.

  1. Carefully type or print legibly all information requested on the top portion of your application and sign in the presence of a notary public.
  2. Attach a $25.00 check or money order payable to “SC Secretary of State” to your application.
  3. Mail the application and check or money order to your County Delegation office for the necessary legislative signatures. Your delegation office will forward your application and check or money order to the Secretary of State’s Office. Allow your county delegation office two to six weeks processing time. Greenville County residents must mail their applications to:

  1. The Secretary of State’s Office will mail your commission within one week upon receipt of a properly executed application.
  2. Upon receipt, you must enroll your commission with the Greenville County Clerk of Court within 15 days of being commissioned. There is a $5.00 registration fee. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, money order, official check, and credit/debit card (includes a small processing fee). The Clerk of Court’s office is located in the Greenville County Court House at:
