What is your favorite quote, saying, or motto?

“True leaders must learn from their failures, use the lessons to motivate themselves, and not be afraid to try again or make the next tough decision.” Admiral William H. McRaven

What is your greatest achievement in life so far?

Becoming a dad!

What is your #1 pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is the “know it all” mentality. Being unwilling to listen to others because you may think you know everything allows people to be dismissive of others in decision-making.

What is your most memorable moment in your EMS career?

I’ve made a ton of memories over the years. The good ones tend to blend together and fade, the tough ones stick with you.

What is your favorite movie or play?

My favorite movie changes frequently. Right now, it would have to be 13 Lives.

What would constitute a perfect EMS crew member?

The perfect crew member would possess quality technical skills, compassion, quick thinking, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

What is your best kept secret?

Well, well, well, wouldn’t you like to know!

What would you consider your worst habit?

My addiction to caffeine.

Who is your greatest inspiration in your life?

My greatest inspiration comes from my daughter. I have the privilege of making memories that she will look back on when she is older, and call her childhood.

What is your favorite food item?

It will always be hibachi.

What would be considered luxury to you?

Opening the mailbox and not reaching in to grab bills.

If you could meet anyone in the history of the world, who and why?

This is a tough question, there are so many good picks here. I would have to say Sir Frederick Banting. He led a small group that isolated the hormone insulin for the first time. This was a massive medical success for type 1 diabetics. I would like to hear what he has to say about insulin prices today, as he and his team sold the patent for insulin to the University of Toronto for $1.

What would your epitaph say?

That is not for me to decide. I try to treat my loved ones with love and respect because they will be the ones responsible for describing that small dash in between the numbers.

What is your favorite type of music?

Sports talk radio with a little Zach Bryan sprinkled in.

Where would you like to grow old?

A quiet gulf coast town with my family!
