About
The GCPRT Board consists of seven (7) board members, appointed by Greenville County Council to serve three-year terms, for which they receive no compensation.
The Board exists to serve as the citizen advisory board to Greenville County on policy matters relating to the acquisition, development, maintenance, and operation of parks and recreation facilities managed by the department. The Board advises Greenville County on matters related to funding, programming, facility planning, and development of a strategic plan for the provision of parks, recreation, and tourism services; and serves as a liaison for County Council and the County Administrator to the citizens of the community.
All members of the Advisory Board must be Greenville County residents, interested in parks and recreation, and committed to community service and quality of life improvements in Greenville County.
The Board meets four times per year at the department’s administrative office located at 4806 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylors, SC 29687. The meetings begin at 12:00pm and last one hour. Advisory Board members may also serve on committees, which may meet in addition to the regular meetings.
