SCOR Projects
he South Carolina General Assembly appropriated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to the South Carolina Office of Resilience (SCOR) for projects that will lessen the impact of flooding. Eligible project types include traditional "grey" infrastructure such as storm sewer pipes, culverts, and catch basins, and nature-based or "green" infrastructure such as bioswales, stormwater wetlands, stream restoration, and others.
In addition to the ARPA Stormwater Infrastructure Program, SCOR has 58 current mitigation projects across 17 counties as part of its Mitigation Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-MIT) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Through SCOR’s Stormwater Infrastructure Program, $55 million is available to counties, cities, and towns to carry out stormwater infrastructure projects. Greenville County received a total of $919,128.91 to put towards both the Little Creek and North Chastain stream restorations and riparian reclamation projects.
