Electronic Permit Resources
- What is Cityworks PLL?
Azteca Cityworks PLL, a GIS-centric software, was selected by the County to help manage permits as it tracks
the process from application through plan review, fee collections, regulatory meetings and inspections.
- Why Should I Use It?
Electronic plan submittals tracked through Cityworks PLL will benefit the County's business development by
offering several cost and time saving efficiencies, including:
- Improved communication with developers, contractors, design professionals and project stakeholders.
- Reduced administrative processing
- Reduced printing and travel time
- Streamlined plan review and permit approval
- Reduced redundant data entry
- Network and wireless data distribution to multiple agencies and county departments
- Can I Still Come In and Apply In Person?
Greenville County will continue to allow customers to choose the paper option for building permits, simple plats,
summary plats, and family subdivision but electronic interaction is more efficient, allows for tracking status online
and less costly to the County, (and is more environmentally friendly).
- Payment Processing Information
Permit Development Services will be processing payments electronically.
Planning and Code Compliance Division accepts electronic checks as well as credit and debit card payments through the internet.
Land Development Division and Subdivision Administration will only accept electronic checks through the internet.
We have chosen to use SC.GOV as our merchant to provide this credit card payment service to the County.
Payments Processed by SC.GOV: Upon electing to make an online payment, you will be taken to the Enterprise Payment
System Checkout page which is an online service provided by SC.GOV, a third-party working under a contract administered
by the South Carolina Budget and Control Board, Division of State Information Technology (DSIT). The total amount
of your payment will be reflected in the SC.GOV Total shown on the payment confirmation page prior to completing your
transaction. The final amount above the Development Services fee is kept by the payment processor and not passed on to
Greenville County. The online price of items or services purchased through SC.GOV, the state's official Web portal,
includes funds used to develop, maintain, enhance and expand the service offerings of the state's portal.
