EMT Academy

The Greenville County EMT Academy is an exciting work-ready program that prepares students for a job in the EMS industry and specifically Greenville County EMS.

This 10-Week all expenses paid program is designed to train the future workforce of GCEMS. Our premier training staff will prepare you for a rewarding career as a first responder. EMT ACademy
About the GCEMS Academy:
  • Classes are scheduled for up to 40-hours per week.
  • Classes are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm.
  • All students will be eligible to receive $12/hr.
  • Classes will be a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience.
  • The program prepares students to take the exam to become an EMT.
  • Graduates will receive job offers from GCEMS. Students must be willing to commit to a two-year work assignment with GCEMS.

GCEMS' mission is to provide a service that strives for excellence in prehospital care through service, innovation, and leadership. The department offers competitive starting pay ($16.00), 11 paid holidays, sick leave, annual leave, Group Health and Dental Insurance, State Retirement, 401K, an Onsite Education Department, and paid Continuing Education Program (CEP) and Provider Courses (BLS, CPR).
