Fleet Management
EMS Fleet
The fleet consists of 26 ambulance vehicles. All ambulances are
Type I on Ford F450 and F350 Chassis. The ambulances have been produced
by American LaFrance, Wheeled Coach and Taylor Made. Remounts
have been done by Peach State. The oldest ambulances (2003 Model
Year) are in process of being remounted.
We also deploy 7 Quick Response Vehicles (6 Chevy 2500 Trucks
and 1 Ford F250). These vehicles are modified with front winches
and a single unit "camper" in the bed to house response equipment
and supplies.
In addition, administrative cars (4), a supply truck and a mass
casualty trailer are in the fleet.
EMS Fleet Maintenance
Greenville County Vehicle Service Center supplies all maintenance
for the EMS vehicles. Ambulances are serviced in a dedicated
two bay ambulance facility manned by two mechanics. These mechanics
only work on ambulance vehicles. Other vehicles are maintained
in the section of the service center for "regular" vehicles (Police,
Building Codes, and other county cars). There are two additional
shops in the facility:
